Hello! مرحبا I work with children, adolescents, and young adults to address mental health life transitions such as: relocation, cultural identity, marriage and multicultural relationships, parenting, and career changes. These transitions can bring on worry, shame, guilt, sadness, and loneliness which can lead to engaging in behaviors that affect self-esteem, identity, relationships, work performance, sleep, appetite and more. I take a treatment based and preventative approach to entail health and work with those looking to address mental health disorders and those looking to manage daily stress using mind, body, behavior, trauma and attachment focused approaches. As a bilingual (Arabic and English) and multicultural therapist, I work with diverse clients.

As an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) trained therapist, I work with diverse clients to process trauma and its ongoing effects. As a multicultural therapist who is trained in attachment focused therapies, I work with clients to trust themselves and others, regulate their emotions, adjust frustrating behaviors, express needs, navigate conflict, communicate effectively, set appropriate boundaries for themselves and others and build fulfilling connections. Over the course of our therapeutic relationship, my clients explore, discover, process, communicate, learn and unlearn and make meaning. We'll identify actionable and measurable strategies aimed at eliminating or reducing distress and symptoms.

My approach to therapy emphasizes the individual and the ways in which systems such as family, nationality and culture might affect an individual. I work with clients to explore and address things in the here and now and also take a look at how past events, relationships and environments might be informing emotions, thoughts, behaviors and wellbeing currently.

Throughout the process, I remain curious, lighthearted, attentive, direct and compassionate. I utilize questions, reframing, challenging statements and validation to support your development. I appropriately use humor as we talk about important experiences and desires. My goal as a therapist is to ensure a safe environment for my clients.

I earned my Bachelor’s of Art from California State University, Northridge and a Masters in Science in Clinical Psychology from California State University, Fullerton. I'm certified by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists to provide mental health diagnosis, assessment and treatment under supervision.
