Kasandra Wilson, QMPH

Provides virtual therapy to Virginia residents only.  Accepts Aetna, United Healthcare  CareFirst/Anthem/BlueCross BlueShield and Cigna Insurance only.

Teenagers and young adults work with me to process and gain strategies to manage the psychological impact of experiences related to grief and loss, overwhelm, relationships, rejection abandonment and/or neglect, family-of-origin challenges, self-esteem/self-worth, self-understanding, identity and more. I am trained to assess, diagnose and treat anxiety disorders such as major depressive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)  bipolar disorder and more under clinical supervision. I take a holistic holistic approach to mental health and recognise each individual's unique and diverse environmental, social, spiritual, physical, and emotional backgrounds, challenges, opportunities and needs. Through our work together, you may be able to clarify confusion or apathy; identify strengths and use them to your benefit; develop skills to manage distress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD; and identify and implement strategies to resolve or change cognitive, emotional and behavioral patterns.

I'll embrace you as you are and where you are, challenge and encourage you, listen attentively, ask meaningful questions, and guide you to gain insight about the impact people and experiences have had on you. As a result, you may clarify confusion or apathy; identify strengths and use them to your benefit; develop skills to manage distress, anxiety, depression, PTSD and identify and implement strategies to resolve or change cognitive, emotional and behavioral patterns. You'll gain self-awareness, emotion regulation, self-acceptance, boundary setting, effective communication and relationship skills and improve maladaptive behaviors.

I draw from humanistic, cognitive behavioral, solution focused, Dialectical behavioral therapy, attachment theory, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, solution-focused, mindfulness and acceptance based approaches to the therapeutic process. I  provide a therapeutic relationship that includes kindness, advocacy, acceptance, compassion, non-judgement, and empathy
