Accepting new clients

Providing virtual therapy to Maryland and District of Columbia residents only. Accepts United Healthcare, Aetna, CareFirst/Anthem/BlueCross BluShield and Cigna Insurance only.

I provide virtual clinical mental health counseling for young adults and adults navigating anxiety marked by feeling of unease, apprehension, or worry about what might happen, causing physical symptoms like a racing heart, tension, and rapid breathing; depression, a mood disorder that causes persistent sadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest in activities;  life transitions, a significant shift in your personal, professional, or social circumstances that moves you from one life stage to another; relationship challenges, and desiring personal growth in Maryland and Washington, DC.

My holistic treatment approach helps clients explore how their environment, upbringing, relationships, cultural experiences, self-care practices, nutrition, physical activity, stress levels, and life experiences influence the way they view themselves, relate to others, and navigate the world.

I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and strive to create an affirming, culturally responsive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. I have a particular interest in supporting individuals who have experienced discrimination, marginalization, identity-related stressors, or barriers to accessing support.

In our work together, I use evidence-based models that prioritize active listening, empathy, and structured dialogue to help clients establish and maintain safety as we explore their thoughts, develop collaborative treatment plans, and identify, implement, and assess the effectiveness of short- and long-term coping strategies. Exploring and identifying language for one's experiences and lived experiences helps my clients develop a better understanding of themselves and the people around them. Often, people know they are struggling but have difficulty identifying or expressing what they are feeling, needing, wanting, or hoping for. I ask thoughtful, open, and closed questions to engage clients in becoming more aware of their needs, values, and goals, we can begin identifying practical ways to move toward them.

I also support clients in understanding and managing emotional disturbances, intense emotions, mood dysregulation, and behavioral patterns that may be contributing to distress. Part of this work involves looking at human behavior—both our own and the behavior of others—and examining how those interactions affect mental health, relationships, and overall functioning.

I work with clients experiencing a range of concerns, including anxiety disorders, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related tendencies, schizoaffective disorder, personality disorders, relationship difficulties, and life stressors that interfere with daily functioning.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic-informed interventions, communication-focused approaches, and neuroscience-informed concepts. I integrate these modalities to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical experiences. Together, we work toward developing greater flexibility, resilience, self-awareness, and value-aligned action.

I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University and am licensed by the Maryland and District of Columbia counseling boards to provide mental health counseling under clinical supervision.
