Accepting new clients

Providing virtual therapy to Maryland, Virginia and District of Columbia residents only. Accepts United Healthcare, Aetna, CareFirst/Anthem/BlueCross BluShield and Cigna Insurance only.

I provide clinical assessment, treatment planning and virtual counseling services to teens and adults from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ communities and racially and culturally diverse populations, who are navigating challenges such as rumination, intrusive thoughts, and persistent negative patterns that interfere with daily life. You may find yourself stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-criticism, or emotional overwhelm—patterns that can contribute to or intensify anxiety, depression, impulsivity, anger, bipolar disorder, addictive patterns, OCD, grief, ADHD, PTSD and other mental health concerns. Even when you’re functioning on the outside, it can feel exhausting on the inside.

Many of the clients I support are used to being the “reliable one”—the person others turn to for stability, support, or solutions. While this role can feel meaningful, it often comes at a cost. You may struggle to prioritize your own needs, question your worth, or feel disconnected from a sense of fulfillment. Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and better understand the patterns that keep you feeling stuck.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique experiences. I draw from evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Through CBT, we’ll identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to distress. DBT skills can support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthier interpersonal relationships. ACT helps you build psychological flexibility—learning how to relate differently to difficult thoughts and feelings while moving toward what truly matters to you. Solution-Focused Therapy emphasizes your strengths and helps identify practical, achievable steps forward, while Motivational Interviewing supports you in exploring and strengthening your own motivation for change.

In our work together, we’ll explore both the past and the present—understanding how your experiences have shaped your current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while also focusing on what is happening in your life right now. We’ll identify the patterns that may be maintaining distress and develop strategies to help you respond in more intentional and supportive ways.

Therapy with me is not about judgment or pressure to “fix” yourself. It’s about creating a space where you can be fully seen, build insight, and develop tools to navigate life more effectively. Together, we’ll work toward reducing the intensity of intrusive thoughts, breaking cycles of rumination, and strengthening your ability to cope with difficult emotions.

My goal is to help you feel more grounded, empowered, and aligned with your values. Whether you’re looking to better manage anxiety, improve your relationships, or reconnect with a sense of purpose, I’m here to support you in building a path forward that feels meaningful and sustainable.

I provide mental health counseling under the supervision of Tiffany Bufort Odom as I continue to enhance my clinical knowledge and skills at Marymount University (MS, Clinical Mental Health Counseling).
